Next Meeting: ParcMeeting20110424

Schedule

April 10th, 2011 -- 2PM to 4PM

Prerequisites

A mobile base.  We have two from 3-27.  May use the #336 one.  Probably need two+ more.  JV members can think about Sumo attachments (see below), but the base should be generally useful too.

If you want to look into NXT-G programming and its concepts, you can look at:

Agenda (Rookie and JV)

The primary agenda is "Build a Brain".  We will go through how to build a robot brain that can react to many different inputs to do its task.  Sumo, Fetch, Race, etc. are all based on building a good brain. Then go do it :-)

In more detail, and depending on time:

  • Explaining about programming with NXT-G and Robotics:
    • CRC-ish [Actor] based NXT-G programming concepts (basics, loops, sensor events)
    • Nxt-G issues associated with multi-tasking and Event reaction.  A barrier to a well-behaved robot
  • Robot Activity #1 (continued)
    • Mission #2 -- Start from base, go around the center (far side of man) and get to the other team's far side (that is, left of your base)
      • Mission #2b -- Make it back to base around the man again
    • Mission #3 -- Go until you are within an inch (or closer) of the wall, then return to base.  Knocking over the wall is a failure.
      • #3b -- Wall is moved by 'ref '
      • #3c -- OK, now you can knock over the wall, but still must return to base
  • Robot Activity #2
